DMEA 2025: We present our solution for the tamper-proof exchange of documents

Ferrari electronic AG, a leading provider of unified communications solutions with a focus on secure document exchange, will be exhibiting at DMEA from April 8 to 10, 2025. The Berlin-based company will be showcasing its OfficeMaster Suite for the secure digital exchange of documents in the healthcare sector at the joint booth Berlin-Brandenburg (hall 3.2, stand D-103). DMEA is Europe's leading event for digital healthcare and takes place at the Berlin Exhibition Center.

From the second quarter of 2025, every person with statutory health insurance in Germany is to receive a digital patient file unless they actively object. In addition to the security and protection of digital patient data, it must now be ensured that all downstream documentation and information processes in patient care are also digital. The efficient, digital and secure exchange of documents between all players in the healthcare system plays a key role here.

OfficeMaster Suite for the tamper-proof exchange of documents
With its OfficeMaster Suite, Ferrari electronic is presenting a solution for tamper-proof and data protection-compliant document exchange in IP environments at the DMEA. The software combines various communication channels such as Next Generation Document Exchange (NGDX), fax, voicemail or SMS on one platform. Documents are exchanged via the Next Generation Document Exchange standard: documents are transferred end-to-end and encrypted multiple times as PDFs with metadata and keywording to the recipient's e-mail inbox or information system. This enables seamless and automated further processing in the hospital information system and other applications.

Encryption ensures integrity
To ensure the security of sensitive data such as patient information, both the document itself and the transport route are encrypted. Hashes are also used to check the integrity of the documents and prevent tampering. Active content such as hyperlinks or potentially harmful applications are excluded from the transfer.

Formatting and resolutions are retained during data transfer, enabling loss-free exchange of patient data, doctor's letters and laboratory results. Even extensive patient files can be transferred securely. A qualified transmission report confirms the successful transfer.

Encryption ensures integrity

With four large hospitals, 58 specialist clinics, almost 3,000 beds and around 8,000 employees, GESUNDHEIT NORD is one of the largest municipal hospital groups in Germany. Ronald App, Team Leader Infrastructure:

“For the exchange of documents with personal data outside the hospital information system, the OfficeMaster Suite from Ferrari electronic is set in the Bremen hospital group Gesundheit Nord. This applies above all to external communication with doctors who provide additional services, who very often do not have an IT infrastructure for secure digital data exchange, but also internally in administration, where we need legally compliant proof of delivery, or for historically grown processes when exchanging documents between the various clinics in the network."
