Ferrari electronic presents interesting prospects for 2025 at the Partner Day

Secure document exchange for more digital sovereignty

Ferrari electronic AG, a leading unified communications provider, invited its partners to its traditional Partner Day in Berlin on Thursday, November 14, 2024. Participants took the opportunity to find out about the latest trends and technologies for digital document exchange in the rooftop lounge on the 14th floor of the RBB building. The conclusion: The communication channels may be changing - from landlines to mobile phones to messengers - but the challenge of using them for legally valid and tamper-proof digital document exchange remains the same. The OfficeMaster Suite from Ferrari electronic is equipped for this, as a preview of the upcoming version exclusively for the participants on site underlined.

After the welcome address by Ferrari electronic CEO Stephan Leschke, the event continued above the rooftops of Berlin with a presentation on the current state of technology in digital document exchange. Dr. Rolf Fiedler, Director of Research and Development at Ferrari electronic, showed the path from modem to VoIP - with all the advantages and disadvantages associated with each technology. Ferrari electronic accompanies all phases with its technology for document exchange from fax to Next Generation Document Exchange.

In particular, Fiedler explained that fixed-line telephony has already been overtaken by mobile telephony and that messenger services are already appearing on the near horizon to replace mobile telephony as the leading means of business communication. Ferrari electronic believes it is well equipped for further technical developments. This was also demonstrated by the exclusive look at the next version of the OfficeMaster Suite, which will be released in 2025.

From the field: The OfficeMaster Suite in use at Gesundheit Nord

Ronald App, Head of Infrastructure at Gesundheit Nord, then showed how the Bremen hospital group with 8,000 employees and 250,000 patients per year uses the OfficeMaster Suite. Gesundheit Nord has been connecting its four hospitals and 58 specialist clinics in Bremen with the OfficeMaster Suite for more than ten years. Clinical laboratory results are transmitted quickly by fax, directly from the hospital information system KIS. Mr. App emphasized how important it is that incoming faxes can be processed by employees according to precisely defined processes. This is the only way that vital information can be used immediately. The OfficeMaster Suite is accessed around 5,000 times a day.

Tour of the historic Haus des Rundfunks

Following the practical presentation, the participants took part in a guided tour of the history of broadcasting in Germany since the 1920s. The “Haus des Rundfunks”, where the RBB is based today, is one of the world's most important birthplaces of broadcasting. The participants of the Partner Day were able to take a look into the large broadcasting hall in the Haus des Rundfunks, built in the 1930s, and into the modern digital studios. The old Berlin radio tower, popularly known as the “Langer Lulatsch”, can be seen from the Partner Day venue. The world's first television broadcast was transmitted from this tower in 1932.

Stephan Leschke, CEO of Ferrari electronic AG: “We were very pleased to welcome the representatives of our partners to this building in Berlin. As a company that carries out research and development as well as service and support from Berlin/Teltow, it is important to us to live this proximity to partners and customers. The intensive discussions showed how important such events are for exchanging ideas and developing further. With regard to the next product version, we were able to show our partners in Berlin how their feedback has been incorporated into the new OfficeMaster Suite in many areas.”

Ferrari electronic grows with the technologies: Messenger apps on the rise

Dr. Rudolf Fiedler, Director of Research and Development at Ferrari electronic AG: “Ferrari electronic has been synonymous with document exchange for more than 30 years. From modem to ISDN telephony to Voice-over-IP, we have accompanied the development of communication with our innovative products. So it is only logical that we follow the foreseeable trends, from landlines to mobile telephony and messenger apps. For our users, this means that they can continue to exchange documents digitally, legally and protected from tampering in their preferred channel with the OfficeMaster Suite.”

Focus on digitalization and digital sovereignty

Against the backdrop of growing global political and economic uncertainty, partners are often confronted with questions from users about data protection and security, but also about the storage location of cloud data.

Stephan Leschke, CEO of Ferrari electronic AG: “Geopolitical and economic uncertainties are affecting practically all industries. At the same time, more and more criminal actors are on the move, whether for financial gain or on behalf of the state. It is therefore all the more important that initiatives for digital sovereignty reduce the dependence of German companies on foreign providers. This will give them back control over their data and the technology they use. With our OfficeMaster Suite, users have the additional security of being able to exchange their documents legally and securely. With backdoor-free software made in Germany, we are making our contribution to the digitalization of Germany from our headquarters in Berlin/Teltow.”
